GOD DID IT
Jack Olson

The Bible says, “He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone And the Bible defines angels as ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? Now salvation comes through faith. Here’s a story that ties these truths together, along with childlike trust

There is something for you to consider as you read this story. The opposite of faith is fear. In Isaiah, God makes it clear: “For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Jesus simply said, “have faith in God.” There is a connection here that I haven’t realized before, although I probably knew it. (There is a big difference between knowing and realizing.) In fact, faith is not hoping your prayers will be answered or knowing it, but realizing it. It’s the pinnacle of trust—childlike. It can even happen on busses.

BUS ANGELS

So, here’s a bunch of women on a buss headed from Denver to Topeka. Their driver is also their leader, their pastor, and very possibly the washer of feet, since he hasn’t delegated the driving to someone else, as most people in authority would. And among them there is this little bitty woman who looks more like a mountain among the angel folks. These women are all singing their hearts out, praising God, understanding the depth of what they are doing, fulfilling a host of scriptures.

Also present, but unseen, there are also the “lifters-up” ready to protect them. So, when the pastor begins to get sleepy, action is called for to prevent a highway incident. God speaks to Angie She tells it like this:. “Around 1:00am the pastor, growing weary and sleepy, started making frequent stops. I was seated about halfway back in the bus and felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to move behind the pastor and pray for his strength. At first I hesitated, since his godly wife was seated right behind him and surely, I thought, she should be the one to pray for him. But the Holy Spirit was insistent, so I obeyed, moved forward and asked the pastor if I could pray for him. He gladly accepted.

A minute or two after his wife and I started praying, I began to hear music— and angelic choir of voices praising God. At first it sounded as if even the wheels on the bus were singing "Hallelujahs! Then I heard an angelic choir singing over the top of the bus! It sounded like we were in a vast concert hall, where not a single voice or note is lost—where reverberations, and counter points and every phrase blend in perfect harmony.

I asked pastor and his wife if they could hear it, but they couldn't. However, they said they were aware of a very special presence of God. This heavenly music had lasted only a few minutes, but immediately the pastor was refreshed and able to drive non-stop straight through to Topeka, where we had a glorious conference!”

This story appears in Angie’s book, “God’s Little Girl,” not yet published.
