It is amazing, at least to me, that not trusting God for the truly creative, hammer-in-hand, kinds of things He can do is a learned reaction. Miracles are granted in the wake of total trust—a childish, unsophisticated quality. Somehow little kids are the ones who are the leaders in matters of faith. We have a lot to unlearn it seems. Angie Brogan makes this point in a couple of stories. Angie is a pianist and vocalist who conducts evangelistic services around the world. Her services are typified by miraculous healing and deliverance.. This is but one example. A NEW HIP I was conducting a miracle service in Philadelphia in a very large church. As I began to pray for the sick, I looked to a side and saw a little 12 year old girl on a cot and in a cast from the waist down. She was weeping and the glory of the Lord was on her little face. I sensed that she was being healed.. “What are you feeling,” I asked. she said, “I feel so warm!” I told her that was the healing power of Jesus. Her father informed me that she had been born without a hip socket and just recently had a pin installed in her hip. I knew in my heart that God had healed her so I told her parents to take her beck to the doctors to have this confirmed. The next morning her father called the home where I was staying and said something miraculous had happened during the night. The little girl called for her father and when he entered her bedroom, he noticed that her cast had cracked wide open. He removed the cast and she got up and began to walk. Later they brought her to the home where I was staying and the father asked me to pray again as one of her legs was longer than the other. We prayed and God lengthened the short one. That evening, I received a telephone call from her father. He said, “we took our daughter back to the doctors and they are baffled. They could not even find the scar where they did the surgery. Then they X rayed her hip and could not find the pin.” She was declare whole! The father said she is like any normal child. She is riding her bicycle and climbing on cars and other things, perfectly normal. God had given her a brand new hip! He could have just replaced her hip. But God knew the doctors would resist removing the cast, so He broke it open.. It confirms what the Bible says: |
